This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use SarusPay, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. SarusPay is a product of Sarus Payment Labs FZCO.
1. What we collect
To open and operate your account, we collect: your name, date of birth, nationality, address, contact details, government identification, a live selfie for verification, device and app data, and details about your transactions and card activity.
2. Why we collect it
- To verify your identity and comply with anti-money-laundering laws.
- To operate your USD balance, issue and manage your cards, and process transactions.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to keep the SarusPay service secure.
- To communicate service updates, respond to support requests, and — with your consent — send product news.
3. Identity verification partners
We share the information you submit during sign-up (identity documents, selfie, and basic profile) with our identity verification partner solely to verify who you are. Our partner acts as a data processor and is contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the verification we requested.
4. Other service providers
We use trusted service providers to help us run SarusPay — including cloud hosting, card issuance, fraud prevention, and customer support. Each provider is bound by written agreements and may only handle your information for the purpose we specify.
5. Legal disclosures
We may disclose personal information where we are legally required to do so, including to regulators, courts, or law enforcement, or where necessary to prevent fraud or protect our rights.
6. International transfers
Your information may be processed outside your country of residence. When it is, we apply appropriate safeguards to ensure the same level of protection you would expect at home.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is open and for a period afterwards to meet our legal and regulatory obligations — typically several years after account closure.
8. Your rights
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to update information that is inaccurate.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations.
- Objection and restriction — ask us to limit certain processing.
- Portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@saruspay.com. We may need to verify your identity before we respond.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and continuous monitoring to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we recommend you keep your device and credentials protected too.
10. Cookies
Our website uses a minimal set of cookies necessary to run the site and to remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising.
11. Changes
If we update this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
